By popular request we are heading to the Colchester Castle Parkun for their special Elephant and Castle Parkrun!

This only happens twice a year!

There is the option here to do both their standard parkrun and the Elephant version as the elephant version doesn't start until the normal one is complete. Double run day!

Colchester Castle parkrun. I am an occasional RD on the duty roster. Twice a year we do the 'Elephant and Castle'. That is we do the parkrun then when it's finished at about 10am we run the Elephant route which is a fun course which also starts and finishes in the same location, at the bandstand. It's also 5km and is organised by a local running group.. This summer we go on August 19th.This is a NO DOG parkrun (park rules)

Extra - Colchester is also known for its excellent zoo, and the symbol is used to direct tourists there. It's the unofficial symbol of Colchester tourism.

Extra 2. We have a good number of run leaders who know the route interspersed among the runners so you don't get lost.

Extra 3. I know it's in the wrong order. Castle & Elephant. However the Castle pub is just 200m away and offers lovely cold beer* for those who want to get things exactly right. * other drinks are available.
